I am so in love with this simplistic, aesthetic space. A perfect place to study for midterms. Here, you are surrounded by books (so that you can get your study mood kick in) and it feels like you are in a library, except it is not packed with people preparing for their midterms.

Architectural Experience

High over head conditions with clerestory like (pardon me for my architectural glossary) openings on the very top of the structure, allowing maximum natural light to enter the space. The vertical plane of the space is geometrical refined. The simplistic aesthetic interior is lightly brushed with natural light, with wall decorations (love the idea of laminating old technical book pages!) and light bulbs adding a minimal touch to the entire spatial experience. Shelves. Shelves. and Shelves. While there are several reading nooks scattered around some corners within the shelves, the inner space is divided by a large shelf that runs perpendicular to the entrance of the space.

Menu

Latte. My all-time-favourite espresso beverage.

Decided to give Gibraltar (aka Cortado) a try. So basically, it is an espresso drink that is served in a glass cup with a touch of milk. As opposed to latte, you can taste the strong, bold flavor of the espresso. Reminds me of a less foamy cappuccino.

Shakshuka. Two eggs baked in tomato scattered with Tunisian spices topped with melted grana padano cheese.

This picture is intentional (so that you can see the runny eggs). There was a little wait but I guess it is all worthwhile. I love eggs. Custard like whites + runny yolks = happiness. I took my first bite of the crispy bread dipping in this flavorful tomato-cheese-broth-thingy with the custardy eggs served on a small iron pot. Reminds me of the typical Malaysian breakfast: a toast with half-boiled eggs. Delicious. The portion is a little too much for me, so it is a perfect split with my friend. I wish there will be more slices of bread as it is quite flavorful to just be eaten alone.
